We were out working in our front garden in Sevenoaks this week. It's time for the big chop, cutting all the perennial grasses down ready for spring, top dressing the borders with organic compost. Here's a quick view of some our popular bulbs we planted last autumn to enjoy this spring 2020, we will be out tending the gardens from February onwards and hopefully capturing lots of images. Happy New Year to all our blog gardening friends...... We are very excited about lots of our newly completed gardens for 2019/2020, we have 3 gardens currently under construction in Sevenoaks, Chipstead and Tunbridge Wells, all in Kent. We just need the borders to dry out a bit before we can complete the planting.

The enchanting but often overlooked hoverflies are out on the fennel in our dry border. Great pollinators. We think the first image is a  Syrphus ribessi   https://www.discoverwildlife.com/how-to/identify-wildlife/how-to-identify-hoverflies/ This dry border contains lots of self seeding plants including Cephalaria  gigantea, Foeniculum vulgare, Verbena bonariensis. The ornamental grass in the background is Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster'. Its a wonderful border full of movement, I'm keeping a look out for a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, not seen one this year in our garden.

Returning to our garden in Kings Hill last week, taking night images until 10 pm, lovely clients, made very welcome. Greencube garden in Kings Hill Here we have used LED strip light to wash light down from the bespoke bench, creating a cosy corner.

The BALI awards - British Association of Landscape Institute - oscars for the landscaping industry, held at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London last Friday 7th December 2018. We were awarded the Principal award for a Domestic Garden in the £60,000 to £100,000 category. We are absolutely delighted and carried on partying into the evening. Here we are at the awards with our clients and the fabulous landscaping team from LDP (Land Design Partnership) BALI accredited landscape team. We have completed a wonderful garden in Westerham. A medium sized garden with a sprinkling of greencube magic....... installation by Langdale Landscapes This garden has some bespoke features including copper spouts water feature, laser cut grill up lit at night, a copper moon gate feature, framing a view as well as a mix of slate paving and cotswold blend bricks. We have also included floating/cantilevered benches, garden furniture from Expormim as well as a fire bowl fuelled with bio ethanol to keep you warm in the evening by Solus.
