Salvage, upcycle, re-use

We love the opportunity to design small gardens. This 30 square metre courtyard plot in #kemsing completed last autumn is doing really well. We’ve also picked up the aftercare visiting every 6 weeks.  Here we have created a focal point fireplace with salvaged fire surround enjoyed when outside but viewed also from the kitchen window.  #focalpoint #outdoorfire  #salvage  #gardendesign #upcycle #context #getoutdoors Designed by greencube Hardscapes by Quest Landscapes Planting by greencube Aftercare by greencube Here’s the before image !

be bold

I photographed one of our recently completed gardens last month, unfortunately the sun was hiding behind the cloud most of the time. This garden was completed in Autumn of 2014. It needs to knit together a bit more and all the perennial grasses need to do their thing before we take further photographs but the tulips and daffs were putting on such a display I couldn't help myself. ohhh, I love spring... greencube finally finishes courtyard garden for new property in Caterham Me and Harriet finished painting the walls in this garden last week, Gemma visited on Monday to carry out maintenance and I returned Wednesday evening to take some photos. Team effort. Our client is absolutely delighted with her new garden, we have played with scale and placed large oversized pots planted up with architectural leaves of Fatsia japonica, mixed with tree ferns (Dicksonia antartica) with a focal point feature evergreen tree Eriobotrya japonica The Fireplace is a rendered polymer with granite hearth and bio ethanol feature fire bowl. A great reward to our very busy week: visiting new clients in Aylesford, Sevenoaks, Eynsford and Caterham presentation of a new design in reigate survey carried out at Wildernesse Golf Club visited existing gardens under construction in Sevenoaks and Beckenham out to tender on a new garden in Sevenoaks two small garden designs completed this week in Reigate...

Vibrant colour in our greencube garden in Caterham

This tiny garden belonging to our client living in a new build end of terrace home in Caterham has had the greencube touch... Inspired by palettes of tropical greens, creating a lushness and oasis within this tiny space and the boldest focal point fireplace we have ever designed. With our clients backing we have (almost) completed this garden. Garden includes bio ethanol fire bowl. We have played with scale placing the large focal point fireplace and the oversized pots within the small space, creating a dramatic, non fussy garden . I'l return to get some images at night. Gemma is maintaining this garden on a regular basis, feeding, weeding and generally keeping it looking fab. Garden includes eco deck and granite paving.  Before photo Garden construction Oakleigh Manor Garden Design, Project Management and Planting Greencube View our other projects: www.greencubed.co.uk

Greencube courtyard garden to be built in Caterham, Surrey

We have just completed this little courtyard garden design for our client in a new home in Caterham in Surrey. We are just gathering quotes for the construction. A tiny space, this garden is all about the detail with its warm tuscan red chimney breast, seating, layered  granite details and wonderful lush planting with eco decking and pebble mulch. We are very excited about changing this soulless space into an inviting, sociable courtyard. We have played with scale in this small space and placed oversized sculptural pots. So watch out for the finished photo, coming soon..............

Greencube presents Uber Cool Garden in Tunbridge Wells

Our new garden completed in Tunbridge Wells has most definitely been awarded the  'uber cool badge' with its dynamic use of space, sweeping arc layout, cantilevered oak bench, division of zones by deck boards flush with paving, granite paving and coping, strip flame fire, tropical mix of lilies, palms, pittosporums and the best lighting I've ever seen! I spent last night at my clients with the landscape contractor Colin from Creative Landscapes whose team have been working hard on this garden throughout the winter months and lighting Engineer Peter from Greenleaf Lighting . Welcomed with a glass of wine which I sipped slowly shuffling around the garden with camera and tripod at hand taking many photo's, I've selected the best to show. Greencube's concept behind this design was to create an outdoor living room, pull up the armchairs, light the fire and enjoy being outdoors, this high specification property required a matching garden and we are proud of ...
