greencube and the planting season
We have been very busy in the last few weeks. Planting in Chelsfield, Sevenoaks, Hadlow, Borough Green and Loughton in Essex.
Here's Harriet testing out the new cantilevered granite steps in our garden in Loughton on our last planting day.We planted this garden this week in the warm sunshine. Its almost complete a few tweeks, a few extra plants and bit of landscaping to finish off. We will return in the summer to take some photos once its all knitting together.
This week I've also visited our garden under construction in Matfield in Kent with feature hop poles, this garden is like no other we have been involved in. Rustic, organic and a return of the hop poles linking to the history of the house that use to be a hop pickers hut. We have just completed the planting plans that include meadows, shrubbery and prairie planting in sculpted bands around the lawn with sculptural hop poles standing tall. We are looking forward to seeing this one completed.
We are planting a garden next week in Speldhurst, Kent a brand new german Baufritz house, this garden has strong geometric lines and zones to replicate the house and its layout.
Gemma has been working in our garden in Caterham in Surrey this week.
Here we planted in oversized pots Viburnum tinus half standards with single species tulip.
Meanwhile in my own garden , we've spotted Small tortoise Shell, Brimstone and female Orange Tip butterflies in the meadow area.
Here me and Mike planted over 250 tulip bulbs last autumn, now looking gorgeous in our meadow now in its second year.
