Modern Planting - Purple, White, Silver and Pink

We worked in a garden last week in Sevenoaks that I designed back in 2008, preparing it for a PARTY. Just a few additional plants added to fill some gaps where a hedge had been taken out. It's lovely to see our clients taking good care of their garden. A modern mix of purples, pinks and silver plants to suit the grey granite and the contemporary design includes: Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum', Cynara cardunculus, Allium 'Globemaster', Sambucus porphyrophlla 'Thundercloud', Pittosporum 'Tom Thumb', Buxus sempervirens, Salvia, Euphorbia mellifera, Callamagrostis 'Karl Foerster', Veronicastrum virginicum 'Pink Glow' and Sanguisorba 'Tanna', Ox eye Daisy

Tulipa 'Doll's Minuet'

Tulips are looking great! We are enjoying Tulipa 'Doll's Minuet' in the garden currently. We have planted thousands of bulbs in our clients gardens last Autumn,  I'm hoping they are also enjoying the colour explosions. We've had a busy week, we are currently working on an exciting garden for clients in Peterborough, we have four gardens being constructed in: Borough Green Chelsfield Chislehurst Sevenoaks and are about to embark on a new design for clients in Loughton in Essex. I'm looking forward to a day at the Chelsea Flower Show on Tuesday next week.

New Garden being Constructed in Chelsfield, Kent

This modern garden around a newly constructed family home in Chelsfield is progressing well. We will hopefully be planting this garden in the next few weeks. Langdale Landscapes are building this one and doing a great job. Greencube's  design includes 5 stainless steel water chutes, curvy rendered walls and fireplace with gas strip flame. The garden looks a bit soulless currently and needs height and softening. So we are very excited about seeing this one completed.

greencube's garden in Langton Green, near Tunbridge Wells features in Dutch Magazine this month

Our large garden in Langton Green  designed back in 2010 features in a Dutch magazine for April - Groei & Bloei , I had to use google translator to work out what they said: dutch "door efficient gebruik te maken van niveauverschillen ontstaan op een klein oppervlak twee terrassen, gescheiden door een prachtige plantenbak, die tevens dienst doet als regleuning van de zitbank." literally translates to: "through efficient use of level differences arising on a small surface two terraces, separated by a beautiful planter, who also serves as backrest of the sofa." my dutch is not too good! Here are some more photos of this garden:

greencube working on a landart project in Hadlow, Kent

We have designed a garden around a very special modern new build in Hadlow. The house is clad in western red cedar and white render, with dark grey windows. This is the second garden for our clients (who keep moving!). We are now working with Chris and Karl (landscapers) on this 1/2 acre plot in Hadlow, Kent. 19 trees were delivered, root ball trees, which we hand picked from the nurseries fields and had delivered. Beautifully manouevered onto the dumper! by Chris and Karl, always with a smile.... and our favourite delivery driver from Palmstead. Varieties chosen: Carpinus betulus fastigiata Betula pendula fastigiata The landscapers have now sculpted a landform around part of the lawn area to the front garden, following the design layout and 3d image we presented, to create a bit of 'land art'. This has been settling for 6 weeks now and we will be pinning meadow turf to the landform by the end of April. PHOTOS TO FOLLOW We also had Jodie work...
