At last spring has sprung

Workload at greencube is busy as always. We are project monitoring one of our designs in Offham, Kent working alongside landscapers - Creative Landscapes and contractor Pondscapes  on a wonderful garden for an Oast house. Ragstone walls are currently being built including a ragstone cascading water feature.  This week we are finally planting the Wildernesse Golf Club's courtyard garden. I'm really looking forward to seeing the clubs final transformation turning what was a post war 1950's ugly building and tarmac area into a contemporary, appealing and smart clubhouse. We are also working with new landscaping company SJB landscaping in North Norfolk on a small courtyard garden, we are very excited about this scheme. Garden construction starts in May for this very unusual bold garden....... watch this space Meanwhile a small design for landscaping company Langdale Landscapes is coming to fruition.Using tier cladding and porcelain external tiles. ...

February - dull, grey, lack of vitamin D, dreaming of summer sunshine.....

It's been a wet winter and pretty grey, work is busy. We are currently booking new designs into May 2016. What have we been upto? I attended the Society of Garden Designers awards ceremony at the Landmark London Hotel on the Marylebone Road for an evening of catch up with lots of old and new friends and colleagues. A big Thank You to the Land Design Partnership who invited me along for the evening. The equivalent to the BAFTAS for garden design surrounded by tv celeb garden designers, Chelsea Main Avenue Designers and many SGD members. A lovely evening, catching up with suppliers, other designers and landscaping companies. Here I am with Christina from Land Design Partnership and Rae from Rae Wilkinson Design. The food was delicious the wine was flowing, but the room was incredibly warm, we chatted all night, celebrating the success of great designs. Unfortunately I didn't stay up in London as I needed to work on the new website at the weekend, getting the last train hom...

3d design work by greencube

greencube are constantly designing difficult gardens on multi levels and always use sketchup pro to create our three dimensional interpretations of our plans. This has become an invaluable tool to accurately represent our ideas and our designs. We create a number of views, take you for a tour around your newly designed garden. Landscapers also love our 3d's, it helps with their interpretation. We also share our sketchup files with architects and vice versa if we are working on a shared project. Here are a few examples of gardens we have designed recently using sketchup pro A new build bungalow with small garden, part enclosed by a brick wall for a retired couple A couple we designed a garden for back in 2008, who have bought extra land and extending their garden further, in Surrey A multi level garden in Seal, Nr Sevenoaks A large family garden in Sevenoaks  A small courtyard garden for a family in Brentwood We use sketchup to draf...

Oak seat and slate paving

Here's a finished outdoor seat made in seasoned oak with steel supports and underplanted with Thyme, Erigeron and Hakonechloa. The upright green oak sleepers behind serves as a raised planter as well as a back rest. It offers a really lovely bench that's softened by the planting, designed for my Mum, I visited last week to deliver their bulbs, they are looking after it very well. garden design - greencube planting - greencube hardscapes construction - quest landscapes The shed has been painted the same colour as the arches, the fence has been painted with black ash which in time as the plants establish will fade into the background making the plants look brighter.
