I have been given a greenhouse by a new client who wanted rid of it and so I quickly dismantled, cleaned up, re-assembled and almost ready for my sunflower seedlings to move in, just waiting for my greenhouse heater to arrive, ordered online. The sunflowers are for Hampton Court, in colours of red, varieties include: Prado Red, Velvet Queen and Harlequin, lets hope I remember to water them.......... I'm sowing in batches weekly to hopefully get some to flower for the show.

Myself, head gardener Alex and Brian visited a couple of nurseries last Friday, very productive day and a few acquisitions for the show. We have asked Richard McKenna at Wyevale-East nursery to source the majority, he has so many contacts and was very keen to assist!

Lecturer Brain Hawtin at Hadlow College is in charge of construction, he has a wealth of knowledge and I know he can pull it off. I presented to a group of his students, second year full timers last month, they have been given the task of drawing up the construction detailing as part of their degree course. I think it is great idea, they have something real to work on, we have invited them all to help at the show also. I visit the college once a week and help with advise, collate info and generally keep an eye on the progress. WE have given them all some pointers, described the material choices, oak, kent ragstone, rain cladding sheets and fabricated steel. They have embraced it with such spirit !

How exciting, the RHS have given us the thumbs up and we are now organising it all. Here's a 3D visual of my design, it's all about Kent farming, note the strawberries growing down the wall onto the cantilevered table, the epitome of the shortest 'food miles'
