Our meadow is doing very well. Harriet and I look out on to it from the greencube studio.  We had lunch out there in the week and ended up doing a plant identification working out all the wild flowers and meadow grasses. We have wild carrot, corn cockle, corn marigold, ox-eye daisy, meadow buttercup, poppy, yarrow, common bent, crested dogstail, sheeps fescue, smaller cats tail, musk mallow, ladies bedstraw, common sorrel and black knapweed. Far more diverse in species then last year. It's wonderful to look out onto, but even better to walk through the mown path to the terrace in the centre, where you are encapsulated by meadow flowers. The bees and hover flies seem incredibly happy:>) hovering and collecting their nectar. We have designed a few meadows this year in our clients gardens and one of our clients in Matfield has a hammock positioned in there meadow with hop poles placed within creating a dynamic sculptural effect. The sunshine has brought the warm orange glow of the Kniphofia 'Golden King' into flower in our gravel garden. Looking great with  Stipa gigantea and an underplanting of Helianthemum makes for a lovely warm  planting combination.

Here's our garden in Sevenoaks just completed, new built in bench, retaining walls with a mix of grey granite planking and oken sandstone. Walls the same colour as the render on the house. Gemma maintains this garden. Plants that are currently looking good have to be the Allium christophii , Salvia caradonna and the Geranium s. We have been visiting two of our newly completed gardens this week 1. Hadlow, Kent adjacent to farmland. 2. Loughton, in the centre of Epping Forest Gemma has been carrying out regular maintenance in this garden in Hadlow to keep it looking great. Here's the stepping stone paving over reflective pond The miscanthus is growing nicely. Here we have used Prunus nigra with a mix of perennials, shrubs and bold bands of ilex crenata 'Dark Green'.  The Salvia caradonna is looking particularly good. Prunus nigra stands out bold against the white rendered walls of the house. We have semi-enclosed this garden to create an  intimate space within the larger area, surrounding the  terraces with low 1 metre high walls, one of which has 3 water blades cascading into the pond. This tiny garden belonging to our client living in a new build end of terrace home in Caterham has had the greencube touch... Inspired by palettes of tropical greens, creating a lushness and oasis within this tiny space and the boldest focal point fireplace we have ever designed. With our clients backing we have (almost) completed this garden. Garden includes bio ethanol fire bowl. We have played with scale placing the large focal point fireplace and the oversized pots within the small space, creating a dramatic, non fussy garden . I'l return to get some images at night. Gemma is maintaining this garden on a regular basis, feeding, weeding and generally keeping it looking fab.
