NATIONAL AWARDS Our garden in the heart of Chelsea is a finalist in the SGD awards Another difficult build - no access other than through the basement flat. ‘escape to Marrakech’ A tiny detailed Victorian basement apartment garden in the heart of Chelsea, only 2.5 metres long by width of apartment 13 metres. Blending subtle lighting, a tropical planting palette, simple, reflective, muted materials to contrast with Moroccan tiles. Calming influences transpiring to a magical space at night where shadows and patterns cast from bouncing light. I took it upon myself to visit some key influential gardens and the Souks in Marrakech before designing this garden to best understand my clients requirements and develop my design ideas.
