Its been an incredibly busy 6 weeks trying to keep the momentum going with all the design work as well as fitting in all our planting jobs.
We have new gardens being constructed in Leigh, Sevenoaks, Borough Green, Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells, Shenfield and three new gardens to start in Hildenborough, Chelsfield and Bidborough.
We have been planting gardens in Langton Green, Otford, Sevenoaks and Platt this Autumn and have been making the most of the root ball stock available at this time of year, perfect for planting in our prepared borders.
We have been planting root ball Yew, Buxus and Ilex crenata 'Dark Green'
and last week planted some gorgeous Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' trees at 3.5 metres high to give instant impact in our Tunbridge Wells Garden for our clients a retired couple. Garden constructed by Creative Landscapes. This garden was completed in the summer but our clients were happy to wait for us to plant in the Autumn (perfect timing) allowing the roots to establish and grow strong in readiness for next years glorious spring and summer.
I will return to photograph this garden next Spring and Summer for our website and portfolio.
This garden includes two built in benches (one with lift up lid for storage) as well as top terrace for table and chairs, the garden has been designed on three levels making the most and taking advantage of the sloping topography. A mix of brick and limestone paving repeated throughout. The wooden seats are western red cedar.
We have planted 800 bulbs already and have 800 left to plant in the next couple of weeks in our clients garden throughout Kent.
Garden Design work includes Woldingham Surrey, Bromley, Sevenoaks(x 4), Fulham London and Chislehurst. So we are pretty busy.
We have a very exciting project in Hadlow which we are putting the final finishing touches to, this is for a very modern new build, I'm very excited about this one.
Greencube's own rear garden which can be viewed from the studio:
We have been using the quartz paddlestones again with a sawn grey sandstone to great effect. Used for retaining, creating platforms and step risers. This garden is having a meadow sown in March and includes Birch tree copse with buxus and pittsoporum balls, Yew buttresses, inspired by my many visits to Great Dixter. The meadow will have mown paths and a floating terrace with some cool garden furniture, not chosen yet!! . Constructed by Quest Landscapes.
